About Me

My name is L'Oreal Thompson and I own (so far) five pairs of purple shoes. Okay, now that we've gotten that out of the way, welcome to my blog and thank you for stopping by. I believe every girl needs three things to make her happy: peace (of mind, body and spirit), love (of herself, from family and friends) and, in my case, purple shoes.

I'm an assistant editor for a regional home and garden magazine in Baltimore where I honestly learn something new every day. My goal is to one day publish my own magazine for teen girls that celebrates beauty of all shapes, sizes and colors.

Before I became an assistant editor, I was an online contributing writer for GirlsLife.com and a general news reporter for a local newspaper where I covered local government, community news and wrote regular feature stories and a monthly column.

I graduated from Loyola College (now Loyola University Maryland) in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications, a specialization in Journalism and a minor in Spanish. I studied abroad in Spain for a semester during my junior year and in Italy for a month following graduation.

When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, writing, dancing and traveling. I work hard and play hard, too. If there's anything else you would like to know, please feel free to contact me.
